Microsoft Lumia 650 volume issues (only with headphones plugged in)

My phone, which is just one week old, already has issues. I plugged my headphones in today when I walked downtown, and first there was nothing wrong. On my way back home, I plugged my headphones in again and then it happened. I pushed the volume up button and my music went louder, but then I suddenly heard my volume was going down. I looked at the screen of my phone and I saw that the volume was going down steadily. When I pushed the volume up button again, my phone suddenly vibrated rhythmic and my screen went off and on. Very annoying! Does anyone know what this is? Because I've bought my phone just a week ago...! This only happens when my music is on with headphones plugged in. When my headphones are plugged in and my music is off, this doesn't happen. Also when I listen to music on speaker, it doesn't happen either. Weird, isn't it?

you might have a defective unit where the volume buttons aren't working properly. You can take it back for checking

You could also try a hard reset. Backup your phone beforehand. It may help solve the issue. Make sure the cover is properly secured and the buttons meet the device correctly.

Don't hard reset, I've had this issue with only ONE headphone till now.
All others are good.

Its a headphone issue not phone.
