No they didn't, after attempting to use a blocked email address and it fails the first time, click the 'back arrow' then try it again; you will then see the local account option.

It is pathetic that people have to do any of this just to bypass having an MS account. There are lots of reason why people don't want their computer connected to Microsoft servers all the time. I have no use for an MS account, so why should i be forced to have one?
Even Apple don't do this on MacOS, I am not forced to have a Apple ID on my Mac mini. It is because of the way Windows is going that I decided to change to Mac after 20 years using windows.

Whether you can bypass or not anymore, I think I'm just going with MacOS for good now. I have one of the last of the Intel MBPs that can still run Windows via Bootcamp and not Parallels which cost a hundred bucks a year (sure to go up) and I'm tired of playing these games and of the frustration.
