Yep...the PWA version is much more stable but doesn't have all of the features especially around video calls...

I had this issue for ages so was using the PWA mostly. Happy to report the update I got today has not crashed all day. Hopefully it is now fixed.
Now we just need it to be complied for ARM rather than 32 bit emulated to speed it up and lighten the battery hit.

Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.9267 (32 bit). It was last updated on 20/04/2020.

Same here. MS Teams crashes multiple times a day during (mostly during calls but not only) on my Surface Pro X. Very disturbing...

Is performance particularly bad?

I doubt battery is that hit. SPX has great battery and the SQ1 is battery efficient.

Microsoft said they went down the 32-Bit route for Office 365 to retain Addin compatibility but I suspect they didn't mea Teams but Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook. The 32-Bit version has ARM components I believe. But Teams isn't part of the Office 365 Installer so who knows.

Annoying to have to use a PWA for a Microsoft app!
