I've got Lumia 1020 running latest W10TP. My mobile hotspot is erratic and always cuts out very quickly and actually never works properly (using Surface 3). Definitely a problem with the preview build because it works fine on 8.1

Which phone carriers are you all using, and what apps might be needed to get share data to work? Im using a verizon mvno and cant get it to work on 8.1 or 10.

Att&t USA and Telus when in Canada.
With 8.1 was working for me. Not with 10, I think there is a ipv4 setup missing

Windows 10 Mobile build 10512(? - whatever most recent in Fast Ring) does not have working Mobile Hotspot, which was a known, documented issue.

Dear OP, if you look at the list of current bugs in the latest Windows 10 mobile preview, it is said that mobile hotspot is not working, if you really need it, you will have to roll back to Windows phone 8.1

Mine works great on my 920, and 1520's running W8.1 on AT&T. Your plan has to support it as well, it doubled my AT&T plan rate to have it enabled.

Ugh the Wi-Fi Hotspot is such a **** off for me at the moment and for build 10166. Why? So when I had an L635 on Cricket Service via build 10136 I was able to turn on the Hotspot and it worked perfectly and had all my family connected on their tablets, etc for long drives. Suddenly build 10166 drops and BAM, now trying to turn on Mobile Hotspot causes phone to tell me about some tethering crap and doesn't work. And now in build 10512 it doesn't work at all. I feel like they have completely destroyed the Mobile Hotspot over time and should go back to refer to the code they used in build 10136 for that one...
