MS Word doc opens then closes a few seconds later. Why?

Hi Guys, I have a desktop running Windows 10 and Office 2019. The problem is with Word documents that have a document template and a global template with VBA. If I open one of these documents, it opens for a few seconds and then closes. I wrote the code for the global template about six years ago, which provides a user-form with many functions which are to a great extent for formatting. The problem seemed to start after modifying the code to accept '.docm' filename extension instead of '.doc'. I have since installed an older version of the global template, so really things are back as they were, but the issue still exists. Can anybody shed some light please?

I can't assist with the root cause of the issue, but are you able to restore your PC to an earlier setting prior to installing the modified code?
