Hi all,

Does anyone know of a music player app for Windows Phone which will allow me to jump around within a music track stored on the device using the progress slider?

I came over from Android and I was used to having this function in the Google Play Music app. Obviously for long tracks it wasn't perfect (imprecise, fiddly) but it was better than nothing.

When I'm watching YouTube videos at least I can jump 30sec by pressing the forward and back buttons, but in the music player this (of course) takes me to the next track, with no way to navigate within the track. Am I missing something?

Thanks! :amaze:

You can press and hold the forward and back buttons for navigation within the track.

So, I don't agree with the previous reply to your post, there are no Forward and Back buttons (at least not on my Nokia phone).

There are Previous Track and Next Track buttons. You can use those to fast forward and rewind by pressing and holding. But it's really terrible interface compared to the Iphone, especially for podcasts or language-learning. First, if your finger slips you are moved to the next track (not sure why they could not make FFW and RWD buttons). Second, the track time is smaller than a flea so you cannot casually fast forward and rewind. If you are driving and want to fast forward, try not to cause an accident.

It appears that the issue is with Windows 8 itself and not the App developers. I've checked out about 30 different MP3 player apps and none have the track scrubbing and +15s or -15 sec button that Itunes has (or had?). It's also strange that the Windows Phone has no Itunes, WinAmp, Media Monkey, or Microsoft Media Player.

That's what I meant when I said forward and back buttons. I meant the skip buttons.
