Must have for Lumia 1020!

A few months ago i bought this external flash for my lumia 1020, because you can sync it with the xenon flash of the lumia 1020.
But i had a problem, it didn't sync properly, only 1 out of 10 was fine. I almost gave up, and then i had an idea. I made all the pictures with Nokia Camera, and it didn't work out. So i tried the standard app "Camera", and it works flawless, time and time again. Just put the mode button on S2, and it synchronises perfectly. The flash is very good and very cheap, around 60 dollars. It comes with a baseplate so you can put the flash anywhere you want, it will always flash, no cabels, no nothing.

Great post, I'm sure other 1020 users will benefit from this. I wonder if it would work for the 1520, 930/Icon phones as well?

Nope, you have to have a xenon flash, it does not work with LED.

Bumping this thread up in 2019 just to say that this is the reason why the Lumia 1020 is still the best cameraphone yet despite its age. I'm sure some of you would say that I should just get myself a proper DSLR/Mirrorless camera, but I spend very little time with DSLR/Mirrorless camera, so this is definitely my perfect mobile photography gear.

Nokia ( whateversoft ) could go with a slogan "not with led" or "only on 1020" and make a killing with this instantly. Just like "Only on N64" ringing in my head. Impressive now do a barrel roll.....
