My bluetooth speaker pairs and connects but makes not a sound.

I have tried everything Microsoft recommends and everything the speaker manufacturer recommends, pairing / repairing, etc. Speaker pairs and is connected but no sound comes out no matter what source I try, Windows Media Player, online radio signal, etc. Help!

can the speaker work with other devices such as a pc or phone?
Additionally, in the sound settings for your pc, there is an advanced section for volume for different speakers - check that the bluetooth speaker has the volume more than zero
