Windows Central Question
My download of Windows 10 will not play .MOV files.
I have been using W8.1 for some time and like it however my sons note book has W7 and so I thought W10 update was a good idea. I clicked the Windows icon on Saturday 8th Aug15 and it invited the download. Some time later W10 was installed and working.
So having checked Picture files that came up fine I tried a Video files - MOV
Windows Media Player, Quicktime, VLC plus a few others only brought up their play page and the sound played but the movie was just a black screen. The only advice on the Web was to convert my .MOV files to something else. That could take several days and ridiculous.
Both the W7 I replaced and the W8.1 on this notebook work perfectly with .MOV.
After a whole day trying I downgraded ( lol ) back to W7 which was very quick and the .MOV files all play perfectly again. Thank goodness but would still like to try again when I am assured W10 works properly. All W7 and W8 / W8.1 are fine.
Hope some input from someone - Rob.
