My phone software is upto date

Hi, if it only happens on calls, I would look to reseat the sim card.
Failing that a soft reset and then a hard reset.
Although your 'phone software is up to date', you didn't mention whether you were on Windows Phone 8.1 or one of the preview builds of Windows 10.
If you are on Windows 10 rolling back to 8.1 is also an option.
