My Nokia Lumia 620 not recognized by PC

Whenever i try to connect my Nokia Lumia 620 to my pc it shows up in My Computer but clicking on it says that the folder is empty.
I am using Windows 8.1 Preview edition.
Used the Windows Phone App for Windows 8, but it asks me me restart the phone, i restarted the phone and also the PC many times and then connected it again but it gives the same error everytime.
Tried using the Windows Phone App for Desktop, but it says to unlock the phone even the phone is unlocked.
Any help with this?

Unfortunately it seems to be a pretty common bug in 8.1...

No, the only way I got mine working was by refreshing Windows 8.1...

well i checked out with a laptop having windows 7 too..
i cant browse files on that PC too

That's odd. I know it was a problem with 8.1 that needed a refresh to work, you may have a completely different problem. Only thing I can think of is resetting your phone.

I had to download zune to get my wife's nokia 710 to work with our windows 7 puter. Maybe that will help?

Zune software are for windows phone 7.x devices not for windows phone 8 devices
