My phone stopped working during the recovery process

I'm using a lumia 640 xl dual sim. I updated it to windows 10 few months back and it's been working fine. Today I decided to go back to Windows 8 so I downloaded Windows Device Recovery Tool and started the process. The recovery process stopped midway and my phone is now freezed onto a red screen with the recovery logo on it. On my laptop screen it showed that I should restart my device and start the process all over. But every time I restart my phone it just shows the same red screen. My device is automatically restarting every 3-4 minutes. Please help me out here.

try using a different usb cable , pull out the battery and let the device sit without it for a while and try again.
