My samsung focus wont stay on

Hi Everyone

I've had my Samsung focus windows 7 phone for about a month now. Two days ago after pressing the power button to unlock the screen, it asked me to slide down to power off. Instead I slid up to cancel but it shut down anyway. I tried turning the phone back on by holding down the power button but it didn't come on. I then tried removing the battery and inserting it back in. This time it came on but I never got to my home screen. It went off a lil while after the Samsung logo flashed unto the screen. After repeating that same procedure a number of times it finally came on fully and everything seemed to be fine till today it started doing the same thing again, but this time when it does come on it lasts less than a minute before going off again or goes off completely after the screen times out. I thought it was due to a low battery but it does the same thing when plugged in.
I'd be really happy if anyone could help me with this problem. Its driving me nuts considering that its a new phone, and I' not going to be upgrading soon

Someone told me the battery or OS might be faulty, while someone else told me the phone might need to be upgraded.

Can anyone more knowledgeable than I am in this area help?

Sounds like you have a bad phone, especially since it happens with the charge in as well. Did you get it second hand or new? If new, should be under warranty.

In that case, I'd suggest making a warranty claim.
