My SDXC card is so slow...

My 128GB SDXC card is so slow. It is formatted with exFAT. It took almost 5 mins to copy a 4MB file on Windows 10 machine. Any suggestions ?

If you have used the card in anyway on a Unix box before, that will be the reason. Have you by chance?

No, I had not used it on Unix box. I don't own/have a Unix machine.

Have you tried it on another PC? Does it copy quicker or is it also slow? So what I would suggest is establishing if it's the card, or the hardware transferring the data. If another PC does it much quicker then you can remove the card from the equation, if its the same then the issue points to the card its self.

I am sure you have sufficient memory in your PC, there is no a virus checking checking all the data going on and off the card etc.. ?

It could be the card or the card reader- card could be failing or the card reader isn't good quality
