name lookup/ address book search

Hi I recently made the plunge and switched over to a TYTN II after being a long time Treo fanatic. I still love my T650 it works really well but the features of the TYTN II were just too nice to pass up.

There are few things that I miss about my T650.
One of them is when I started typing the person name on my T650, I could lookup Steve Smith just by typing SS on my keypad.

With WM I can't do that, need either to type Steve or Smith.

How can I achieve this functionality?

And I apologize if the answer has already been given, I did a search but did not find what I was looking for.

I hope someone can help.

Is it possible to have this functionality? I believe the WM Treo's have it.

You can do the same thing on the TyTn II (not as good as the treo 750 lookup field plug-in), but just slide the keyboard out and begin typing a person/company's name...try it.

Hi chestvrg, thanks for the reply.
I know about just typing the name but the functionality I was looking for was and I refer to my example If I have Steve Smith, on my WM I have to type STE.. or SMI... where as on my Treo I could have typed SS and it would fined Steve Smith right way.

Maybe I'm not explaining it right or maybe I miss understood you. but the functionality is not there.

Well I fixed my issue, I flashed my rom with a cooked rom and the feature was there plus the device is much faster!

i finaly got it to work.
all i did was replace my rom with one from xda developers
