I haven't read much about this lately, from MS or in the forums...is their ideas of how MS will be naming the phone? Dropping the ridiculous #'s I hope?? Love my 1520 but MS Lumia 1520 is too much...

It's gonna be Microsoft Lumia # with Windows 10 for devices not bigger than 8" ;)
There's no information about the names of possible future devices yet. I think the latest devices we've seen (incl. the upcoming 435) are still those initially planned and developed by Nokia before the acquisition.

It would probably make sense to keep the same naming convention as before.

But then Microsoft aren't really known for being great at naming conventions; if they can find a way of confusing users, they'll use it.

How can anything be more confusing than what Nokia has been doing ever since they decided to build cell phones? ;) All these numbers have barely ever indicated what kind of device a user was to expect.
If there is one naming convention Microsoft should strongly consider, then it is Surface Phone for their flagship device. Imho of course.

To me the only company who has a good giving practice for there products is IKEA.
No complicated numbering systems just call it Billy.

And even IKEA had some bad names throughout their history. They had a bed for children called Gutvik.. This sounds much like "Gut Fick", which is German for "good ****".. Well, they changed it rather quickly in Germany. ;)

I am seriously questioning buying a phone with the name MICROSOFT on it, its a damn ugly name imo.. I hope they will in a way honor Nokia and call it AIKON. I Think Its catchy ;)

Or! Brandless body, and optional clock and name on lock screen.
