Need app recommendation for battery monitoring

I downloaded the Windows 10 Mobile preview on my Lumia Icon, and at first the battery life as absolutely abysmal. It was to the point where I would have to turn on airplane mode to get through the day, turning it off only to check if I got any texts. The phone would overheat very quickly, and I had to set it on my fan to cool it down. It charged very slowly, also. The fact that it was fine when airplane mode was on leads me to believe that the issue was due to antennas being used, as opposed to apps running in the background. I made sure Facebook never updated, NFC and Bluetooth were turned off, and I did everything else I could think of, too. It only got by with airplane mode on, though, even with all the other measures I took.

After an update was downloaded, the battery life at first appeared to improve dramatically. It didn't get concerningly hot, charged more quickly, and held that charge for a longer time. Throughout the day I checked my battery level to make sure I was going to make it through the day, and it seemed very stable, hardly going down at all. When I went on break, I checked Facebook and browsed for 15 minutes or so, and watched a video. After this, the battery life seemed to deplete more quickly. Again, nothing was running in the background. I started the day with 100% and made it home with about 17%, and all I did was send about a dozen texts, check facebook, and play a video.

I'd like to find an app that will monitor usage and display these statistics so I can figure out what the problem is. I downloaded one or two and either wasn't satisfied with the awful UI or it didn't display the information I was looking for. Can anybody recommend me an app, or perhaps some other suggestions to improve battery performance on my Lumia Icon?

Hey there. I have almost the same problem with my 930. Tried hard reset but didn't help. W10 really is a crapp.

Did you follow the check list? WIn10 official build works fine on 930

1 - logout video skype
2 - disable sync in Edge
3 - disable all unused background Apps
4 - disable Video upload in OneDrive
5 - disable in Photo "Show OneDrive pics"
6 IMPORTANT - In settings, Diagnostics, put data to BASE

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll do this for a few days and report back how effective it was for me.

Since WP 8.0 I've relied on the Battery App by Arthur Semenov.

Great Live Tile that refreshes at the minimum wait limit set for 3rd party Apps and shows useful info in medium or large. Inside the App is very nice with Charge/Discharge rates and a customizable graph.

It has served me well since 2013 and continues to do so on W10M.
