Need confirmation from you about headset incompatibility with iPhone

Coming from iPhone, I have previously invested "heavily" to get excellent quality headsets, like bose and dr dre monster beats. All of them have the volume control.
I used them on Lumia 920, but the volume control and microfone do not work.
Can you confirm that this is due to the incompatibility? If so, it is a real pity, which means that I have to buy new headsets...

Dre headphones are terrible, crazy prices for terrible sound quality.

Wow, not sure which Dre headphones you are using but my ur beats that came with the 8x are the best in ear headphones I ever used..controls and mic work also..
