need help new to windows phone

I have lumia 920 on att and no matter what I do I can not get Zune to reconize my phone I even wiped my phone and still nothing. what am I doing wrong?

zune is for windows 7 , from windows phone 8 zune is not at all required , one use the old copy paste method or use windows media player
