new 928 bad esn?

Hello guys, it's been awhile. I need some advice please, a buddy of mine is giving me a 938 for verizon, he is letting the account go for whatever reason (not paying the etf). If I activate the phone on my account, will they blacklist the esn? or will it be safe since it's on my account? Thanks for any help in advance, I have a blue 8x btw which I love.

nevermind, I called vzw and once his phone is switched to my acct., its all good.
