Hi Guys, I have been hearing a lot about Lumia 535's touch issues since its launch in Nov 2014 (26th)
I bought a new one recently, which shows the Manufacture date as Feb 2015,
this is definitely not the first set of production units,
and I feel the touch is not too worse, its kinda okay, it gets my thing done.
DOES THAT MEAN Microsoft had worked on the touch issues even on hardware grounds, I mean the touch panel too and Re-released it
The updates also might have worked.

And I'm a Microsoft enthusiast. I wanted to have ''their first Lumia product'', this is one of the reason to purchase Lumia 535
and the Only reason not to get it exchanged for Lumia 540. Does anyone thought about this in my way?

It is possible.

What is your L535 hardware revision number? (phone Settings > about).

How did you check for the manufacture date of your L535?

Actually there a simple steps to solve the touch problem by applying anti oil screen protector.

And yeah newer phone loses their sensitivity issues

from Philippines here.. Extras+info also shows mine was build from 2/2/2015. i guess these are the RM-1092? touch was not that bad from factory firmware. but is recognizable. the last update has improved it. then i noticed a greater improvement after update 2. adding a matte screen protector makes it like "problem free". for now.... :)

The build date you're referring to is the date when the OS version and Firmware version your phone has was published/finalized/initialized - it's not the manufacture date of your phone. Otherwise, the following information would make no sense: I purchased my phone on February 1, 2015; my build date says March 23, 2015.

Also, the RM version can be seen in the Extras+info page. Mine is RM-1090.

What firmware version number and OS version does your phone have? And are you using the Dual SIM Variant (just to be sure, although the information from this page from Microsoft suggests that only the Dual SIM variant is available in the Perlas ng Silanganan)?

Many users are reporting that adding a matte screen protector helps. At the same time, update findings suggest that only those with the Dual SIM variant are experiencing improvements with the screen reliability after firmware update 15114.

I use a single sim lumia 535 after updating to Update2 have the same problem and after applying the film screen matte screen responds much better!

Your firmware version is still "15053" (02060.00000.15053.24001). The latest firmware version available according to this page is 02063.00000.15114.43004 - this is the same version installed in my L535. Make sure to check for updates since some users are reporting improvements with touch screen reliability for the Dual SIM variant after the 15114 update.

I'm not sure, but I've been trying to verify also if firmware "15114" is for RM-1090 only like yours.. as you see I've got RM-1092. I got no more update notification after Update 2. I have WP10 ready to be installed but I've done that already. Not yet satisfied with how WP10 runs in Lumia 535 so I reverted back. My hard guess indicates that firmware "15114" is for RM-1090 only

Thanks for the info, was thinking of trying Windows 10 in my L535... thankfully my L1020 is still not with me so I have successfully stopped myself from moving forward (got the Update 2, too).

Whether or not the 15114 is for the RM-1090 only or not, other users can confirm this for us - for those who received the 15114 firmware update, what RM version of the L535 do you have?

Of course, there's also the possibility that installing the W10 TP and then rolling back to WP8.1 did something to the device which is preventing it from updating.

Update:
Here are the RM versions that have received the 15114 update (hence, not limited to RM-1090) - will update when more responses come in:
RM-1089
RM-1090

Alright, no problem. Looks like we have exactly the same phone (RM-1090), aside from the build creation date. Have you downloaded the latest 15114 firmware update?

Yes, the firmware is 15114.43004.
Specifically its RM -1090_1001 (I dont know what that additional 1001 mean, may be Region specific?)

Im running this(L 535) on Indian English, so the Cortana is Alpha.
While for my L 720, I changed the settings to US....region, language and speech to English(US), Cortana gets each and every word of mine,
unless I ask something like ''Who is Mukesh Ambani''
The actual English words or with the mixed accent I speak, Cortana grasps it. Too cool.

for some unknown reasons, OTA update does not notifies me about firmware 15114. But now can confirm that firmware 15114 is also for my Lumia 535 RM-1092 through Windows Phone Recovery Tool.. i've got WP 10 Tech preview stock on my Update Settings waiting to be downloaded...

In my Windows Recovery Tool has not popped yet. Would be great that someone with this firm made a video showing the improvements.

Could be, mine is RM-1090_1021.

That's great! Hopefully in the future Cortana's "vocabulary" would be expanded to contain proper nouns of the chosen region or language.

Hmmm, if it is worth it, you may want to install update 15114 through the recovery software... but this will erase the personal content from your phone.

I don't have the Tech Prev waiting to be downloaded in my settings, because I opted out of Fast Ring and uninstalled the app right after receiving the OS update 2.

Mine is RM-1089_1024 build date 19/03/2015 ver. 3.0.0.0 firmware 15114.43000. I tested with multitouch test, and only fifth finger is unreliable. Very rarely at the left side of screen it doesn't detect a touch at first, maybe once in a day at heavy gaming, so I don't consider it a problem. Since Assphalt 8 working perfectly, I would like to try Batman dark knight rises, but first I need confirmation, is it playable on L535? Have anyone tried it yet?
