More detail please - What kind of phone? Is it still under warranty?

If the back cover & battery are removable then you can get a battery anywhere you want.

I hear its hard to obtain batteries for this model.

It an AT&T 950. I got it last fall when they first came out. I have started having a problem were the phone will just just shut off when the battery gets down to about 53%. When you try to turn it in it show the windows logo and shuts off. I have to plug it it to turn it in again.

I think that could be covered by warranty as well.
