New guy here, couple of questions!

I think I have finally found my home. It started with iOS, Android, then WebOS and finally I have made it to WP7 on my basically brand new HTC Arrive. I have always felt something was missing in each OS and now I think I have found the one OS that combines the elegance that is iOS, the customization of Android (well not quite as much), multitasking/alerts of WebOS. The UI is simply gorgeous. I love the live tiles and Xbox/Zune integration. Finally I have a smart, competent, easy to use, and sleek mobile OS that I can be proud of. Anyway, enough of that.

1) Is there anyway to backup my apps on this device. Most of mine are free and it would be a pain to have to restore all of them in the event I had too.

2) Is there any tethering solution? I'm on Mango if that helps.

the customization of Android (well not quite as much),

LOL not even close.

On the app department I not entired sure but I know the apps are linked to your live account and you can reinstall all of them. You don't need search for them on the phone either because of the web marketplace. Think of it, as like the history page on your xbox.


On the tethering problem, I'm not sure, there's two versions out there.

1- You can only use tethering on the new batch of Mango phones ( Radar, Titan, Fujitsu)
2- It's actually up to the carriers.

You can go to www.windowsphone.com and sign in. There you can see all the aps you've ever downloaded and you can install the ones you want.

I've read that if you install apps from the Zune software on you PC, it will reinstall them for you if you switch phones or wipe it. But I'm not totally sure and it is much more convenient to install apps from the phone directly... Also as posted above, logging in on a PC will show you what you have installed in the past
