New instance if application being started each time?

Hi all,

It probably isn't really an issue, but it is a little gripe I have found.

If you start an app and press the windows key, move forward by accessing more apps including the original, WP8 doesn't simply relaunch the existing instance of the application originally running but instead launches a new one.

I've just found 3 instances of the mail app and the message app (all for the same contact) running. Why is this? Surely although running in the background processes are still being used?

I noticed that recently, also, but I wasn't sure if it was all apps or just some apps that relaunch.
