New Lumia Firmware update for Lumia 640 LTE Build date 12/10/2015

Just an hour ago I received a so called Lumia Software update on my Lumia 640 LTE GB country variant.

At first I didn't find what was changed on the update but after taking a closer look I realice that in the "about" menu the firmware revision number changed to: 02177.00000.15184.36003
and in the extras and Info panel the build creation date shows: 12/10/2015 and the Configuration ID is new as well reading: 1033.02DACD

Anyone else has received this update?? Do you know what it fixes or if it a preparation or something for the Windows 10 Mobile update??

I'm thinking it's possibly to prepare your phone for win 10. I have seen a few threads about similar updates for the 735 and the 640 XL, which are both devices that are said to be one of the first to get it, along with the 640 of course. It's interesting that you are the third person I have seen from the UK post about this update (in general).

Yes probably is for that ... but I was just wondering because the update didn't come with a change log.

The truth is I am not from the UK, but I changed the ROM of my phone to the unlocked GB country variant version.
I bought it through Amazon Spain, but was imported and came with a ROM from the Czech Republic from Vodafone, despite being an unlock phone, and I didn't want to see the Vodafone Logo every time I booted my device, that's why I changed the ROM :smile:
