Have a chance to purchase a brand new Lumia Icon still in box unopened & unlocked, what has to be done to use it with Verizon that I'm already on & using my Lumia 928 that I will retire.

I expect it to be not much different than switching to any other phone. A call to VZW is probably in order.

I have one other question, The seller said that it was a prepaid phone, and I want to use it on a contract with Verizon. He does say that this is possible with no problems can anyone give me another opinion I don't know anything about prepaid?

So far as I know, the Icon has never been offered as a prepaid phone. It is Verizon exclusive and will work on Verizon without issue. I think the seller does not quite know what they have.
