New to flashing (noob question)

Ok so I am thinking about flashing my AT&T 920, and I was wondering if I use the European Roms while in the states if I am gonna be charged extra on phone calls? I know this really seems like a dumb question, but it's just something I'm concerned about. Would I still be on the AT&T network, and be considered as roaming? Just a couple of questions because I really want the amber update! Thanks in advance!

I don't know if your AT&T device is locked with either a SIM-Lock oder Netlock. You have to check that with AT&T. If it's not locked, you can put any SIM card inside and use it abroad. If you use your AT&T sim card abroad, you're using a european provider and therefore you're roaming (and charged for it).
Flashing your ROM won't help you in this case.

I am in the states and have no plans to go outside the united states so my phone will remain on the AT&T network. I was just wondering if I flashed the European firmware if that would cause any additional charges. To my knowledge the phone is sim-locked to the AT&T network.
