New to Groove Music and have a question

I am new to Groove Music, I found it when I upgraded to windows 10. I have a question, inside of Groove Music I have directed the program to my music folder(s) and have subsequently found that Groove Music refuses to play my mp3 files; I am being told that 'this is a local song added from another device, this can not be played here.' Any suggestions on what the issue is? iTunes can play it just fine.
