New to Lumia 625 -- Please help me

Friends,

I got new Lumia 625 yesterday and my facing hiccups while operating this WP phone.Please help me with following queries:

1. How to attach a word document or Power points which are saved in phone memory? Am facing this problem while am trying to send out an email and want to attach a presentation (ppt) which I have downloaded and it got saved in phone memory. But its not appearing in the attachments from email?
2. Facebook live tile is not refreshing and some times it shows only cover photo in the live tile? Is this a bug?
3. Internet connection 2g/3g network goes off when screen is locked? My Gtalk status and FB status shows as invisible and i hardly get offline chat msgs? Any settings to be made not to disconnect internet connection when screen is locked?

1. You cannot attach ppt from mail. Limitation. But you can share ppts from the Office hub.
2. Yeah its a bug.
3. Internet connection does not disconnect when screen locked. Pls check if your background tasks for that app is allowed. Make sure you are not on battery saver.

update the phone to GDR3. you can attache doccuments then.

AFAIK i have no problem in sending attachments

Unless your GDR3 is different than mine. That is incorrect. Also all the WPC articles were changed and the offical WP blog do not have this listed.

There's no ability to forward with attachments. Similar to not being able to reply with attachments. I'm referring to documents not photos.

Unless anyone knows differently this is how I understand it. Hopefully it changes in WP8.1

Then why this WP is called as office friendly phone? When we cannot forward emails with attachments nor we cannot attach documents and other pdf's this phone i mean all WP are completely crap..this is the reason ppl are buying andriod which is user friendly and custiomizable.

These people who has developed the phone they did not have minimum common sense how to configure? Bull S**T phone by Nokia totally waste my money..

It will take another 2 yrs or more years to compete with Andriod and ios market....

It's not a problem. It's the way the phone is. No idea why it's like this. It's something that has annoyed me since I moved to WP. I've decided to patiently wait until WP8.1, If this functionality does not show up I'm changing platforms. It was rumored to have come in GDR3 but that didn't happen so my guess is WP8.1. You either accept things as they are and wait or you move on.

I don't know the reasoning behind this. It makes no sense to me but that's just the way it is. The only way to send documents is through Office Hub. The only other option is to have the documents on Skydrive and you share them. That's it.

Can we attach the files if we save it in Skydrive? You will have to go to SkyDrive and share from there. For gdr3 you can developer unlock the phone and upgrade easily. Just search online.

You can only attach Office documents and PDFs from the Office Hub. You cannot use the attach function in email.

When you're in Office Hub you just swipe to Places, tap Skydrive, press - hold on the file, tap share. If it's a file that WP knows it will attach it to the email, if it's an unknown file it will send a link.

You just need to sign up for the App Studio, which is free.

Not sure what phone you have but GDR3 hasn't been released to everyone yet. Nokias will be a few weeks away yet with their Black firmware.

As for WP8.1 - that's supposed to happen first quarter 2014. When exactly I have no idea and neither does anyone else. It could come later but no one knows.

Hi,

In order to forward the attachments (Any office template i.e doc, xls, ppt etc.), you need to go to the saved file in the office tile (the red one, like a book) on the home-screen and then choose to share it from there, it asks to use one of your synced email accounts to do that and then send it to whoever you want to. And yes the attachment is delivered to the other end, there's no chance that your attached item is not delivered unless there is a network error.
