Newbie, just a couple of question for you!

Hi there,

I'm a brand new Lumia owner, and generally microsoft.

I bought in SF a ATT Lumia 1020, RM-877, I'm waiting for my unlock code

I've a couple of questions:

1. Should I remove the film from the camera len?
2. Which firmware is the best/more updated?

I'm asking the first one because in all my phones (I had a lot of care) the camera len usually gets some scratches easily.

For the second one, now I'm downloading the one for: 059T3M3 PWBASSY RM-877 LIGHT SWAP ENGINE GLOBAL

Hopefully is free of blotware of ATT... really how can Nokia/Microsoft permits carriers to add that crap?

You can uninstall pretty much every AT&T bloatware/crapware app on the 1020. Enjoy your new phone

What about the protection film on the camera len? Should I remove it?

Yes you should remove it. The lens is made from gorilla glass so you shouldn't worry about it scratching easily. Also, the camera bump is aluminium so its pretty durable too (just avoid putting it in your pocket with keys)

You should also read the other threads here that talk about firmware flashing, the bottom line is don't count on being able to do it on an ATT Lumia 1020.
