Newbie Question: US Cell Company Compatability

First post here. Be gentle.

I am a newbie to the smart phone arena with a Samsung Ativ S Windows phone on Telus. I purchased it through my Corporate Retirees plan and had it unlocked at the local mall.

I am also a Canadian snowbird wintering in Arizona, for the past 5 years I had a dumb flip phone on Version, that phone landed at the bottom of the lake when boating with a friend. I cancelled my contract with Verizon and purchased the Samsung.

At age 66 I do not comprehend as much as I use to, I searched the forum and found an article but is was a Rogers version on AT&T, I will only need a voice plan as I will have the data shut off on my phone an use my Wi-Fi in AZ.

AT&T as well as T Mob have sim cards for 1000 min at $100 per year, this seems to be what I will need, can anyone tell me if these systems are compatible with this phone.

Yes they are compatible. You should have no problems as long as you order it online. In store they WILL make you get a data plan since it is a smartphone
