No " _ " character on keyboard

Why does WP8 not have the underscore character on the keyboard.
I want to use a Wifi connection at a place, and the passwrd has that character (and I can't change that), but my new Nokia Lumia with WP8 can't access that WiFi only because its has an incomplete keyboard character set.
Why is that? How did they decide to leave that off?

Or am I doing something wrong?

Go to the secondary keyboard where you have the numbers and symbols and long press the "-" key. You'll see the "_" key slide out.

You can do it by pressing &123 then shift. It's next to =

Also, in the keyboard, tap the "123&" key and then the "right arrow" button that appears where the shift button used to be. This will swap to the alternate keyboard..
