No email or search after Windows Phone Cyan update

Finally updated to Cyan after resisting installing Dev Preview. However, the email tile has stopped working. Animation as if to open then reverts to main Windows after a split second or sometimes a few seconds of a black screen. Checking email with a Gmail app.

The bottom right Search icon also does not work. Nothing happens when pressed. I can hear voice asking how to help if I hold on, but no change in appearance or box appears.

Please help! Tried soft resets, changed settings etc, all not worked

PS also deleted mail tile thinking to reinstall but can't find it now!

1) You can natively sync gmail + more (How to add Google Contacts and Calendar to your Windows Phone | Windows Phone Central) with windows phone via email + accounts
2) The app may not be optimised for 8.1, the app can be repinned from your app list.
