No notifications

I just got a second hand 925, updated fo 8.1 and I don't get any notifications for downloaded apps like facebook and facebook messenger. Have reset the whole phone. Need help please!

Actually, notifications must be turned on. Go to settings, find the "Notifications" page-like third down-and find Facebook in the list. Turn it on or off, customize sounds and such, whatever you need.

You have to receive a notification from the app first before you can do that

I have I think, gotten messages but I've had to go into the all and refresh it myself
