nokia 1520 rm-940 AT&T IN UK

Hi, have a nokia 1520 rm-940 AT&T version running WIN10 insider (10166.0) Im in the UK on o2 network.

Trying to recovery back to 8.1 but windows tool says I'm currently on latest available software.

Any other way to get back to 8.1.

Choose to reinstall software and it will put 8.1 back on the phone.

Phone won't restore, just says recovery failed. Tried removing sim card / sd card.
Is there any way to manual download win 8 /8.1 & flash to phone?

Download 2 software programs, Navifirm+ and Nokia Care Suite 5.0. Navifirm+ will allow you to download the firmware while Nokia Product Support Tool will let you manually flash it using dead flash method. Search for instructions on YouTube. And downloading the ROM using Navifirm+ is free so don't need to donate unless you want to.

Also before going this route, try using "phone not detected option" under Windows Device Recovery Tool. Remove your SIM card and microSD card before doing that.
