What has happened to Nokia after the acquisition

It's got nothing to do with the acquisition. How long do you think the product team has been working on this phone? Months.

It has been build to reach a price point, so everything non essential has been removed.

I think it's a matter of priorities. Quite a lot of people are now on their second or third smartphone, and will already have cables, and, for that matter, headphones / hands free sets.

I see it as a positive thing and I'm glad my 630 came without that stuff - not only does it reduce waste (and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing less stuff to begin with), but it also means they could use the money to put a nice polariser on the screen and keep the price low instead.

It's more of a case of just sheer cost-cutting. This seems to be the least sizeable Lumia package that I've seen, ever.

It feels halfhearted, just like phone, unfortunately.
