Nokia Lumia 800 only works in EDGE band

Hi guys, I just bought a nokia lumia with Windows Phone 7.5, the seller (in EEUU) told me this phone is unlocked, but when I tried to use this phone in my country (Ecuador) it only works in EDGE band. In my mobile operator I need the GSM850 band or HSDPA850. The model number is RM-801 and the operating system was updated correctly with Zune. I just realized when I check the information window it says "Operator: Telekom Deutschland SW variant ID201 v.04". Is it posible that this mobile operator in Deutschland has blocked other bands different than theirs? What can I do to use this phone in GSM850? I need at less in 3G, it could be better if I can use it in HSDPA.

Only the US unlocked 800 and the Canadian TELUS 800 have the 850 band.
