Nokia Lumia 920 lagging after CYAN update, static screen and incorrect time

WPCentral Question

Just for the record, the phone is less than a year old Nokia Lumia 920. It was bought new on the Black update, never even lagged until the Cyan update. It occasionally froze and the app Spotify brought it out more than anything else. Today, the phone screen froze mid-scrolling and wouldn't react to anything. I finally flicked the screen off button and the screen went black, for a second. The place where it's supposed to show the time on the screen was replaced with a one big static rectangle. Needless to say I panicked. Flicked the screen on again and discovered the whole thing is on static now. After a few close-to-heart-attack moments, I did a soft reset on the phone and once it booted up, it showed 2 AM in the morning, 22nd of May, 2014 ( while it was 1.52 PM 28th of September, 2014).
I just really need advice if i can blame this on the Cyan update or is my precious little one broken?

Backup everything, then download Nokia Software Recovery Tool and restore the latest rom (cyan) from ground up. This should solve your problems.

You can also first try a softreset, if you would be very lucky that would solve your issues.
