Did you guys know that Nokia's warranty is country specific. So if you are travelling overseas and have a problem with your phone you are stuffed.

Pretty much every manufactures warranty is limited to the country you've purchased it in.

Watches, laptops, portable DVD players all have international warranties. For something like a cellphone this should be standard seeing how much people travel these days.

Agreed that it should, but as long as every other country use different cell frequencies and techniques it's difficult.

Nokia and Samsung phones gives just region warranty (NOT world). So if phone is for Europe (in warranty services they can check this) you can fix for free just in Europe countries. Ok, if you tourist (probably don't have documents of warranty), you can request to fix phone without documents. Service has the right to don't fix without documents, so if you don't look like tourist, you will have problem. :D Phone must be up to two years old.
If you can't deal with service, you can call to home, that your buddy make a copy of the documents and send over email. Simple, yeah?

Simple maybe if you are from Europe, if not (like me) you are stuck with a broken or semi working phone.
