Not getting texts from iPhones

Alright, so I just switched from an iPhone 4s to the HTC One. I've read around and realize I should have turned my iMessaging off before I deactivated it. Problem is, I traded my phone in and it's long gone. Am I screwed? Will I never receive texts from iPhone users?

This is something I've had to be careful about. I've converted a few people over from iPhone and this is one step that we MUST be sure to do first!
