Notifications on Android phone

My wonderful 950XL died, so now I'm running an Android Phone (Blackberry Priv). For email, I'm using Outlook for Android (very good).

Annoying problem is the email notifications. Works fine for the first new email giving a notification of the sender and the message subject.
For the 2nd email (assuming first unread), I get 'You have 2 email notificaitons', for the 3rd I get 'You have 3 ...'

I realise this is an OS problem rather than the band, but is anyone aware of a solution?

I have Outlook Mail on my Note 4 and notifications work perfectly, actually better than the Gmail app on the phone.
I've looked in my Outlook Settings under Notifications and all my accounts are set to notify for All emails and arrive instantly every time.
I've never used a Priv but it may be something caused by a Blackberry specific feature, possibly a feature of the Blackberry Hub which, apparently, manage notifications very differently to basic Android?
