I've noticed that I stop getting notifications while in sleep mode. The problem is, I did not turn on the DND. I need to be able to get texts/call for work, even during the night. Does anyone know if there's a way to keep that turned on?

That kind of defeats the purpose of the Band, which is to promote good health by information gathering. Don't expect them to change it soon.

Everyone has different lifestyles and mine requires me to be available 24/7. They are promoting health but also need to consider the use cases of their customers.

I have the exact same problem. I am in a struggle between trying to disconnect from the outside world while having a restful healthy sleep and accepting emergency calls from work. There should be a VIP list which is allowed to break in my MS Band quiet hours.

For now I told Cortana to set my quiet hours between 10 PM and 6 AM, and added the VIP list to my inner circle, and will keep the phone in a non-silent mode at night.

exactly, my phone does all that already. Why do we need to have the band do that too? Monitoring my sleep is all I want from it.

I think it makes sense that the Band does not alert you when you are in 'sleep' mode (not that the little thing has a chance of waking me up anyway). I think the initial thought from Microsoft probably had battery life in mind. Shut down the rest of the device, because if you plan on wearing your Band all day and then all night, why make the Band do all this extra work and burn more battery if you're asleep anyway!

I am in the same boat with my bakery, which begins operating at 1AM. I can't keep an up-to-date list of the numbers that could potentially call me at night, so I don't use Quiet Hours on my phone. I keep the volume at a level that should wake the dead if someone calls. I use sleep tracking on the band, using the alarm on the Band to wake me, with backup alarm on the phone.

I wish there was an on-call function with a little bit more nuanced settings--allow this type of notification but not that. All I want is phone.

I'm kind of wondering if shutting off the Bluetooth is a energy management tactic. Because the HR monitoring uses twice the energy when in sleep mode than when awake.

Notifications while sleeping would definitely wake me up. It really annoys me when it lets me know a team has won while I'm sleeping.

While it won't turn on the Band notifications, would the call 2 times in 3 minutes to break through option work for quiet hours letting phone calls through?
