Should I care about taking the charger off when fully charged, or can I leave the charger on at all times? That way I can have a fully charged phone every time I go out, coz 520 is not big on battery life.

It doesn't matter if you leave the phone plugged into the charger when you are fully charged; modern batteries are much "smarter" and far more efficient than the old batteries we used to have where they would constantly cycle power while they were plugged in. Modern batteries are designed so that you can leave them plugged in without damaging battery life, so you can go ahead and leave it plugged in while you're not using it without worrying about killing your battery prematurely

The batteries are so cheap that even if you were to ruin a battery, a new one can be had very inexpensively. That's one thing I like about the 520 is the user replaceable battery.

What about when I'm using it regularly while it's fully charged and still connected?

This is fine to, this is how I use my phone just about all the time. As a developer, it's almost always plugged into my computer for app debugging (thus it's charging from the PC) or when I go to bed, I use my phone as a backup alarm and like to play games or watch Netflix in bed before I go to sleep; I have my charger plugged into my phone and let it charge all night.

Also, Shawn brings up a good point about replaceable batteries in the 520 as well. Not something you should have to worry about, but it's good for a backup
