One of the biggest benefit of having the 38MP pictures

Is to load the original _highres pictures in Lightroom, post-process it to the max, and then down sampling back to 5MP to produce some amazing quality photos. Having tons of pixels to work with means I can run more aggressive sharpen and noise-reduction and still be able to preserve a lot of details.

Here's a shot @4 seconds, ISO 4000, basically the max amount of light the 1020 can capture. Produced in Lightroom

Here's a 38MP shot I took in AZ recently - it was the evening of the Blue Moon.

Sorry I should have been more clear, the top picture was produced in lightroom after sharpening and de-noising the 38MP highres picture. The bottom picture was the direct Pro Cam 5MP output.
