One small advertising favor on wpcentral...

I'm a big fan of wpcentral. Recently due to the inability to post and view forums due to the error right now I've been spending a lot of time in the wpcentral forums via my surface. One favor por favor...

I understand the need for advertising. In fact I am all for it. But if you are going to have video ads do you think you could add a feature to either pause and/or mute the video? I can't even read an article because the video is playing in the background. I'm left with the option of either clicking on the video link to stop it or mute my surface. But I use my audio on my surface so I don't want to do that. So I'm forced with clicking the link. Sure you get your money but by forcing people to click on a link doesn't do well for your advertisers.

Is the advertisement issue unique to WPCentral among the Mobile Nations forums? I also frequent androidcentral, iMore, and every once in a while Crackberry. I don't recall ever seeing a complaint on any of the other forums. I use Adblock Plus so I'm not bothered with those kinds of ads. Before I used ABP, the WPCentral site was virtually unusable.

How about trying the Tapatalk app? It has no ads and is free. Tapatalk | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

As of now my only options for using wpcentral are using the tapatalk app or using a browser. I paid for the wpcentral and would prefer to not have to learn and use a new app, especially when I paid for an app.

But this has nothing to do with that. I'm just talking about how it would be nice to have an option to mute or pause ads on wpcentral.com. The video ads just keep playing and playing until I either click on it or leave the page.

I understand what you're saying, and that makes sense. In my case, Tapatalk is useful since I am active on other forums (mainly all the other Mobile Nations forums).

I've never used those. But I'm sure if I did i'd like tapatalk.
