Open map location on Phone maps

I just noticed that from facebook when there is an address you get a "get directions" button. But it doesnt opens windows maps. Instead asks you to open store to find a working app.Im guessing wants to open it with google maps and cant find it. Is there a way to open these kind of locations? or if someone sends you on message an address to open it?

Mine just opens in Edge and directs me to here maps automatically if i press get directions. What device are you using?

Im not sure about this but does the app your're using have permission for locations?

im using 930 with latest win10. Location is on, apps use location are on (Edge/surfy) and none of them opens up apps. keeps asking to search store for an app. Is there any option to use maps for this kind of operation?

Not too sure but it just opens up in edge browser once you select get directions. It doesnt have any options for apps. Im using gmaps now and i just enter or search an address and get directions even if i get a message from someone or i just let it load in edge browser on here maps.

When i select "get directions" it automtically opens in EDGE browser, not the maps app. And when it does that it opens "here maps" which is the browser version. Thats what facebook uses i guess.

@azgoth444 i open fb from edge click directions...yes opens another tab on edge but then asks to search the store for the appropriate app for the task

Edit: ok i changed edge settings from mobile version to desktop and i got what u get. At least a small step forward :winktongue:

But still, i would like to open maps app instead of browser map just as it happens on android. it opens google maps or at least asks you how to open them

Mine just does what i posted ealier. Doesn't give the option for selecting any maps app or what not or open in store. I guess thats just a windows phone thing. I could be wrong. But i just use gmaps primarily and searching manually directly from gmaps itself. Maybe in a future update it would enable such feature for us.

Update: I charged up my L930. I searched for a local pc shop where i am and selected get directions. It does open up the maps application on my device though after selecting it.

Its really weird maybe is some settings that i might got off, ill check them 1 by 1 and try again. with your 930 are on insider? also your edge is in mobile or desktop version?

Both my windows phone is on production build. I tried edge both on mobile and desktop version. It works.

Nothing changed..i played with some settings with no difference...i even disable some background apps that were running again after updates which I didn't notice if you can think any setting that might be the trick let me know to check
