Opinions of the Lumia 735...

With Verizon's Lumia 735 release, just around the corner, I would like to get the opinion of those currently using a Lumia 735. I know the phone is a year old at this point and the specs don't exactly cause a stir, but am considering this as a replacement for my teenage daughter. She is currently using my HTC 8x. If it was up to me, I would be waiting to see what gets released later this fall when Win 10 finally gets released, but she does not necessarily care about flagship phones or hardware specs. I was going to get her an Icon when they were available on Amazon, not long ago, but according to her it is too big of a phone. For those that are using the Lumia 735, would this phone be a viable replacement for the aging HTC 8x or wait and see if a better mid-range phone gets released later this year?

I don't use the 735, but have played around with it a bit. The rear cam isn't impressive, but get's the job done thanks to the carl zeis lens. With the addition of the 5mp front cam the phone is a true selfie phone. Combine that with the lumia selfie app and you can make as many selfies as you want lol.

It has wireless charging and will be eligible for w10, so all in all it's a good starter phone and a good enough phone to hold her over for a newer midranger when the official w10 phones launch

I use Lumia 730 and my wife Lumia 735.

Both phones are great and we both love them. Very good battery life and can be used upto 4 days depending on your usage behavior.

Both front and rear camreas are adequate and capture reasonably good photos.

This phone would definitely get Windows 10 (you can even try the beta, but its better to wait for the final release)

My roommate is buying his little sis this phone. She is 14 and has a Lumia 822.

I am sure the 735 will be good for her though the icon definitely is a beast if a phone. If I were you, take your daughter to a local cricket or tmobile store to see the 640. They are similar in size to the icon.

But the 735 is the perfect teen phone. If only Microsoft marketed it better as such

I have been using the 735 since November as my daily phone. I like it.

At this point, if I were buying a new phone I would get the 640 XL instead. The regular 640 seems to be about the same as the 735, with some points in favor of each, but basically even. That being said, I would go with the 640 because it is newer.

However, the 735 is still a good value and enjoyable to use. It's a shame that the bright glossy green one I have has been replaced by Verizon with a dull matte green one though. That red one looks great, though.

Happy unlocked 735 owner since last November on AT&T. I like the small and light form factor. Plenty of memory with a 64 gig SD card. The front facing camera is great the rear adequate. This phone is powerful enough for my use, maybe not enough horsepower for a heavy gamer.
