I pre-ordered the SB3 (15 in, i7, 32gb ram, 1TB HDD) and I was wondering if the original surface dock will have adequate performance for the SB3?
I am aware of issues with the SB2 where it drew more power than the dock provided in some usage cases. My primary use is for education/engineering and is intalled in a dual monitor setup (75hz refresh rate). Typical tasks involve excel, structural analysis programs, autocad, etc.
I previously had a Surface Pro 5 and thus I have not yet moved to the USB-C world. I still have my four hdmi-to-minidisplay cables for home and work and changing to the Dock 2 would mean that I would also have to purchase 4 additional HDMI to USB C cables.
Thanks for the help!
