Originally bought Windows 7 OS upgraded to Win 10. Can it be transferred to different PC?

HI,

I currently run my old Windows 10 PC build by me. I also plan to build new PC and want to save some money by transferring Windows 10 to my new PC ? I originally bought Windows 7 ( original retail box). When MS was offering free upgrades to Win10 I upgraded my system.

Worth to mention I am not planning to use DVD drive in my new system.

Thanks,
Tomas

If you go to the activation screen what does it say? Does it say you have a digital license linked to your MS account for example? Any more information would be welcome.

Hi,

I haven't start to build my new system yet.
As I mentioned earlier i have original Win 7 OS CD. Which i bought and used for my PC. Later on when MS offered free upgrades to 10 I simply upgraded. Hopefully that makes sense.

I want to know before hand what are my chances to use my current OS and how.

Thanks,
Tomas
