Oulook mail not working WP8.0/920 - No messages downloading

I have a Lumia 920 with WP8.0 installed. I have no problem setting up other email accounts on the phone but my outlook mail which is part of my Windows main account, will not download any messages from the server. I have done both a soft and hard reset without any luck. Each time i provided my Windows Account details, the phone acknowledges that it has found my details and has successfully set up my account, but no messages are ever downloaded. The phone constantly says the "Email up to date" when this is clearly not the case. I am able to view the 1000+ messages in my outlook inbox on both my home PC (Office 365 - Outlook) and via a web browser. I have set my phone to download messages "as items arrive" and to download email from "the past month" which should amount to at least 100 emails. For info, the phone has linked to server dub404-m.hotmail.com. I did try a couple of other servers but with no luck. Have i missed something simple? Thanks for reading - Mike
